Embargoed for Thurs Feb 20 - AUSTRALIA’S TOP 100 GOLF COURSES REVEALED
The industry-standard biennial rankings of Australia’s golf courses have just been released and, as always, provide plenty to talk about. Royal Melbourne West continues to rule the roost (just), but three Tasmanian courses loom large in the Top 10, the Packer family’s private masterpiece Ellerston remains among the elite (despite a slight slip), while Clive's Palmer Resort Coolum has recovered from its dinosaur dramas to return to the fold.  Published every two years by AUSTRALIAN GOLF DIGEST, the AGD Top 100 List also comes at an important time for the industry.

The announcement that the iconic Holden badge is set to disappear from new cars beyond this year has caused an enormous amount of emotional upheaval for many people.  But it is also set to have a significant impact on the extremely active (and often times lucrative) collectibles market. Since the closure of local manufacturing in 2017, the prices for ‘hero’ Holdens has reached astronomical levels – sometimes well over a quarter-of-a-million dollars for a 50 year old vehicle.  With no more Holdens being made, a ripple effect is likely across various Holden models.
