We’ve all experienced the slow torture of waiting for the bus or train to arrive, or even wondered how the kettle can possibly be taking that long to boil.   On the other hand, most of us have needed to double-check our watch when something we were thoroughly enjoying has seemingly come to an end all-too-soon.   Scientists are starting to understand why.
 

AUSSIES ON ICE – CAN YOU REALLY BE FROZEN AND BROUGHT BACK?
There is a long-held myth that famed animator Walt Disney has been cryogenically frozen and will be brought back to life when the medical technology permits.   Sadly, this is not the case for Walt (he actually went the other way and was cremated), but there are people who have opted to have their bodies preserved for a planned future comeback.   And it is an option now available in Australia.

THE MENTAL HEALTH APP BOOM – CAN YOUR PHONE BE TRUSTED?
Thankfully we now talk about mental health in a similar way to how we discuss physical health, but there remains a significant issue for many people accessing the help they need. One-on-one resources are stretched and sometimes non-existent.  This has led to a boom in smartphone apps claiming to provide mental health (or in some cases 'wellbeing”) advice and support.  In fact, it is estimated that there are now a staggering 10,000 apps of this type available.
